Project Specification

MJL Decorating was a local decorating business that had already attempted to create a online presence with not much success. Previous developers had not only failed to meet their requirements, but had even taken ownership of the businesses domain name without consent. We believe at southcoastwebsites.co.uk that you should be responsible for your own domain names and hosting to maintain a level of control and ownership for a very valuable asset to your business. MJL Decorating had concerns about the same problem happening again, but we guided them to a suitable hosting package and domain name that they would ultimately be in control of and have ownership to. We could then concentrate on designing and developing their perfect website.

Below are the design features and components used to reach the above project specification.

Design Features

The website has our distinct easy to use, very clear navigation with 4 clear sections selected by prominent zones at the top of each page. Once an individual section is selected, the zone colour is highlighted to confirm the navigation.

Within each of the 4 main sections there is also a sub-menu enabling quick and easy navigation split across a manageable amount of web pages.

Underneath the sub-menu for each section includes a newsreader that displays images and text to inform the user of current news and events that MJL Decorating want to re-enforce and advertise in a well-defined location.

Each web page carries the MJL Decorating logo and contact details, in the title for the page, enabling the user to contact morelec quickly and easily from any location within the website. Southcoastwebsites.co.uk also designed and implemented an online contact form that the user can complete and automatically sends the customer information in the form of an email to MJL Decorating.

The colour and layout of the site is kept very much in keeping with the already established MJL design and style, blue/white/grey bold formatting with a precise layout.
