Project Specification

Morelec approached southcoastwebsites.co.uk with a request for a online presence in the form of a website that would advertise their business and allow potential customers find out more information about morelec and the work that they carry out.

The web site would complete the following requirements set by morelec.net:

• Inform the user of morelec's facilities and services available
• Show up-to-date news and events
• List any current vacancies within the organisation
• Enable the user to contact morelec quickly and easily
• Inform the user of any current/previous contracts
• Replicate the current morelec logo digitally online
• Design in keeping with the current morelec style

Below are the design features and components used to reach the above project specification.

Design Features

The web site has very clear navigation with 5 clear sections selected by prominent tabs at the top of the page. Once an individual section is selected, the tab colour is highlighted and the title image changed to indicate which section the user is within.

Within each of the 5 main sections there is also a sub-menu enabling quick and easy navigation split across a manageable amount of web pages.

Underneath the sub-menu for each section includes a newsreader that displays images and text to inform the user of current news and events that morelec want to re-enforce and advertise in a well-defined location.

Each web page carries the morelec contact details, in the title for the page, as a news/event item in the new reader and overlaid on the header graphic enabling the user to contact morelec quickly and easily from any location within the web site. southcoastwebsites.co.uk also designed and implemented an online contact form that the user can complete and automatically sends the information in the form of an email to morelec.

The colour and layout of the site is kept very much in keeping with the already established morelec design and style, red/black/grey - minimalist with subtle highlights; improving the web sites usability and ease of use.
